No matter how old my kids get, I will always get excited about Thomas and Friends because I have such fond memories of the hours we spent playing with and watching and reading about those little trains when they were all small. In addition, my love of Liberty Science Center is well documented around these parts, so it was only natural that I jumped at the chance to preview the new LSC Thomas and Friends Explore the Rails exhibit and it surely did not disappoint.
As always with LSC, the exhibit satisfied both the historical nerd side of me and the always a kid who likes to play side. There was a lovely balance of Thomas artifacts and plenty of opportunity to learn through play. The train table was the size of a small NYC apartment and it was set up as the whole of Sodor. As you might imagine, this was the main draw for many of the kiddoes that day. There were also exhibits to climb aboard, costumes to help imagine you were the the person in charge and some sorting and learning with freight options too.
No matter the portion of the exhibit, it was full of joyful squeals and the sound of pure, engine-induced fun!
Here is the best part, you can go see for yourself! I am giving away four free tickets to the Liberty Science Center so you can enjoy Thomas and Friends and all the other fantastic exhibits at LSC. We never go for just one thing! Just enter the contest by commenting below with your favorite engine friend. I’ll pick a winner at random and then you can enjoy this weekend in Sodor with your favorite Tank Engine Friends.
