I know I’m a little late to the party, but I just downloaded Skype onto my computer for the first time and I am a little bonkers over it.
My sister got a new laptop and has been trying to get me to download it forever. Tonight I finally remembered (my husband is traveling so I was desperate for things to do this evening).
I called my sister with it, so she could chat with the kids. They were literally out of control. Literally.
I mean I had the dictionary definition of Chaos right in my very own dining room.
The Middle One was jumping up and down trying to show his aunt his naked chest (he was mid-pajama change when I placed the call). Faith was leaning side to side saying, “I’m here. I’m not.” over and over again as she went in and out of camera view. Then, she asked my sister to get her dog and then spent the next few minutes trying to get the dog’s attention by calling his name again and again. I’m pretty sure for the entire call all my poor sister could do was just try to keep the dog from going crazy looking for the people who were creating those voices he could hear calling his name.
The Baby meanwhile just stood on the chair yelling, “Hi, Aunt Mary Ann”. He was screaming, like-clearly he had to yell in order for her to hear him INSIDE THE COMPUTER!
It was insane. It was hysterical. I was so overwhelmed with action, I couldn’t even really concentrate on how freaky-Jetsons it was until after we “hung up”.
You know what though? It only lasted a few minutes and nothing was actually communicated through all the madness. But, what I realized upon reflection-it was fun. Like real, laugh out loud fun.
Please ignore my earlier post.
And excuse me while I Judy Jetson my sister again.

OMG – You have to send me your Skype name!!! We have Skype too! And we Skype my dad and my brother almost everyday. Although, if we really want to talk we use the phone – way too many distractions with the kids screaming and jumping around. It sure does help with us living 4,000 miles away – we actually feel like we are still home:)

Sometimes I wonder if we are perhaps living the same life, but just in 2 different places! That almost exact same scenario took place in my house this morning. Even the scene with the dog! Don't you just love it!
