We’ve long relied on LandsEnd around here to get us back to school (and back to the beach). With their endless supply of high-quality backpacks and school uniforms, you can expect a fairly large internet order every August and again in May when we need bathing suits and towels. I don’t think I need to write a lot about what they make for kids, because you should know by now so I won’t bore you. If you don’t know, I’ll sum it up quick. Lands End makes nearly bulletproof pants for even the roughest of boys and now they have something called Iron Knee pants which somehow blend the indestructable design that active young men need with the smooth softness of fabric that (at least my) sensitive boys crave. Everyone needs some Iron Knee jeans or khakis this fall. I’ve long relied on Lands End for stylish yet age-appropriate girls’ clothes and their gear (backpacks and lunchboxes) are second to none. We literally couldn’t go back to school without Lands End. Yes, you may pay a bit more than some other stores, but the clothes and gear hold up over time so you get more than your money’s worth-especially with more than one kid in the family!
I was delighted to be invited to an event where I could preview what’s coming this fall. LandsEnd and MomTrends put on an incredible event complete with chef Sam Talbott:The Sweet Life: Diabetes without Boundaries
(be still my heart) making some fun and healthy back to school creations. As I expected the kids’ gear did not disappoint. In fact, the clothes were so cute I almost wished my kids didn’t wear uniforms to school (almost).
What I was surprised by though as I ventured up the old freight elevator to floor two of the event, was how they managed to balance the fine line of stylish and practical with their woman’s clothes. There were dresses to flatter every figure and great layering pieces for that wacky fall northeastern weather. I loved nearly everything I saw and couldn’t wait to get home and actually look at the catalogs that come in the mail.
Other than the awesome boat bag I carry as my work tote, I haven’t given Lands End much thought for fashion for me. The Husband likes their stuff, but I never get past the kids’ pages in the catalog to give them much thought. That’s all changed now. I got to see up close how their clothes look great on most every body and I know they’re made with the same high-quality fabrics and construction that the kids’ clothes are made.
So, I’ll be spending a bit more time on the LandsEnd website now. I’ll take care of my kids, but then I’ll save some quality time for mom. You should too.
