Living where I do, means when I refer to time spent in The City (capital letters) I mean New York. However, sometimes, we get in our car (so quaint) and head into the other city. You know, the one with the Liberty Bell. Last Saturday, I packed up the small car with The Girl and her friend and we took Philadelphia as our own Girls’ town.
Our first stop was The Mom Mixer at the Four Seasons. Hosted by the lovely Whitney of Mommies with Style and Colleen of Classy Mommy, the Mom Mixer is a chance for bloggers and brands to have great conversations in a setting much more desirable than a massive conference hall. I learned a lot there about a few new brands to me like CVS’s Gold Emblem Select Line of snacks which of course the girls enjoyed too! I also talked to the folks at Hershey Park about some possible Reinvention Family Adventures throughout the year at Hershey. The Girls loved measuring their height on the candy bar “ruler”. I ogled the new Stella & Dot Baubles and Handbags (of which I wanted all) and might have gotten myself roped into a Susan G Komen 3-Day event. Stay tuned for more on that and a cute young lady’s review of the adorable Charmit line of jewelry. (Like mother like daughter.)
After we left the Four Seasons we walked down to Max Brenner which The Girl’s friend suggested for lunch. Clearly, she’s a girl after my own heart as the restaurant was basically based around chocolate consumption. Consume we did! If you’re ever in Center City (Or Boston, DC, NYC or…Paramus?), Max Brenner is a must stop. Just have your wallet handy. Fondue for two doesn’t come cheap. But, the decadence, the adorable presentation, and fantastic service we received was worth every penny.
When we were sufficiently stuffed with lunch and chocolate, we decided we couldn’t walk very far, so we used the UBER app to get a car back to the hotel. The UBER app and service is so cool, it might have been the highlight of our day! You can go to JerseyMomsBlog for a full review and a discount code for your own UBER experience.
Even if driving there makes my blood pressure soar, all in all Philly is a great second city. (Sorry, still a NYC snob.) We’ve already made plans to go back as we have a date with some dinosaurs!

Thanks so much for coming Cristie – so great to see you, as always! Hopefully see you at another event soon – maybe in the BIG city this time? lol. And isn’t Max Brenner’s amazing – I always walk out of there 10 lbs heavier and happier 🙂
