Our Newsest Charter Champ Gets Some Love From Her Principal |
I wasn’t going to write today because we are literally going non-stop until bed time. So far:
8:00-School Drop Off
8:15 Charter Champions: The Girl gets award at school. It is a surprise so I have to drive in circles after drop off so she doesn’t see me at school. As you can imagine, this enrages The Baby who is used to Wii time after drop off. We arrive cranky–both of us.
8:15-Cry eyes out at each and every presentation-even the kids who aren’t mine. This school is amazing.
9:20-Race out of elementary to deliver The Baby late to preschool. He is now in full-on lather. Secretary stops me to remind me I have an IEP appointment with Speech Therapist at 9:15 (yes, that’s the correct time.)
9:21-Drive like the wind, dump whining Baby at preschool (God Bless You Ms. Kara)
9:27-Back at school for meeting
10:00- Race home. Dig through years worth of paperwork for last year’s tax forms that I couldn’t find last night at midnight after I finished calculating the year from hell. Somehow at our brokest we owe Uncle Sam. Hmmm….
10:40-Walk back over to preschool to deliver backpack, lunchbox and return GIANT bag full of freshly cleaned smocks and dress-up costumes. (Ya know ‘cuz I don’t have enough laundry of my own.)
10:47-Craft store for goodie bags for school Fundraiser
11:12-Staples for office supplies (that allow for finding of tax forms easier next year)
11:32-Spot Trader Joe’s Sign going up in craft store parking lot. (Yippeee!!) Day gets much better.
11:50-Drive to kids’ school (again!) for early dismissal pick up
12.15-Sit to check email when The Girl comes down in this:
Yes, those are uniform tights. She gets free ice-cream for the shirt. |
12:25-Start writing this post because seriously, what do I do? Make her change? Embrace her creativity? Try not to laugh? Feel good that she is confident and deeply happy? Take a picture and tell the world? Yeah, I’ll 12:27:Choose last option. I don’t have energy to handle this on my own so I’m sharing with you. The day’s only half-over. I still have othordontist, tax man, birthday party and dinner/baths/bed to go.
I wish I was in Amsterdam.
