I’m not going to lie, this week’s Wonder Wednesday post did not come as easily as the last few. I had to really think about what has been wonderful. Not that things aren’t going well. They are. We’ve just been busy so it’s hard to focus on much other than the routine of the days. But, I did. Yesterday I took some time to think about what inspired me this week.
The first thought I had was of all the people I have met in the last week and how my life is already better because they each shared a bit of theirs with me. So I thought today’s Wonder would be about stories and how when you get to hear other people’s, your life is infinitely more rich. Then this morning, I woke up and saw that Project Underblog, our little story center that could, posted this on facebook.
Don’t you love when the Universe smacks you in the face with a message? So, here I am writing about stories. This week I’ve heard the story of an incredibly motivated entrepreneur who shares some of the same challenges as I but is making stuff happen anyway. I’ve also talked to a long-time writer with both professional and personal stories that had me wide-eyed. Yesterday I met an actor with a Cosby Show story up her sleeve. We chatted about auditions and I learned I was probably right in thinking I wasn’t cut out for that line of work all those years ago.
My whole life, I’ve been fascinated by other people’s stories. Never in a nosey way, maybe sometimes in a gossipy way (though those are not my finer moments) but always in a way that respects the weight of their words. The world is indeed made up of tiny stories and I think getting to hear them is wonderful.
What’s your story? What happened today, or last week or ten years ago that makes you who you are? Share it below or if you’re a blogger, head on over to Project Underblog and apply to write it over there!
