I knew from the very beginning that I wanted children who were children. Don’t get me wrong, I love babies but they’re not my favorite age. I love kids. Kids who are people and go easily on errands and make great lunch dates.
I love kids that make you laugh.
Kids that have real conversations with you.
Kids who play games.
I was right to be excited about this time in parenting. Sure, there are moments when I want to wring all their necks. And the noise? Oh my gosh, the noise levels in this house rival that of an indoor arena during the last seconds of a sporting event, in over time. It’s not all perfect and there are times when I want to curl in a ball and ignore each and every one of them.
But mostly, this house rings with joy. And our lives? Well, our lives, they’re full of wonder.

So, so true. You really sluff away the stuff that doesn’t matter and bring it back to the amazing light kids bring to our lives.
Thank you!
