I’m away at a conference this weekend. I have a car that is small, like pre-kid small, and I only have to worry about my own needs for three days. Wanna know the kicker? There have been more than a handful of people who have asked if I have kids. They have no idea. They only know me for my work-not as a mom. It’s been refreshing. Not that I’d trade my life for anything. I love my family dearly and being a mom is a role I cherish. But once in a while, it’s nice to just be known as Cristie.
So today’s mix has some songs that Just Cristie would listen to, back in the days where she could put the top down and just drive.
Bruce Springsteen-Death to My Hometown: I so wanted to hate this song on principle. I heard it and thought, “gee this Irish song sounds a bit like Springsteen. What they? It IS Springsteen”. Ridiculous, I thought. But then, it grew on me. So, there.
Fun.- Some Nights: This one? Well, not to go for the easy pun, but it’s just fun (in a self-indulgent, childless way).
Dr. Dre and Snoop-Nothing But a G Thang: Car top down, single girl ‘member? Dre is imperative
Gotye-Somebody That I Used to Know- Once I figured out how to say this guy’s name, I was all over this song. Just try not to sing it out loud.

LOVE LOVE LOVE “Somebody That I Used To Know” – although it’s starting to get overplayed! Hope you are enjoying your conference!

Agreed. Even after writing this post I heard it so much I now skip it on my iPod! It was good while it lasted.:)
