We’ve had our local public radio on a lot here lately. If you’re local and Brookdale Public Radio isn’t on your car dial-shame on you. Get it on there. Then call them or head over to their website and donate to their current fund drive so we can keep them on the air playing everything we want to hear in no particular order. (Ok, I stole that from my favorite Annapolis radio station, but they’re pretty much the same so that’s ok.)
Aaanywhoo, here’s what’s in our ear these days in the good ole’ mini-van.
Of Monsters and Men-Little Talk: I thought this was the “home” people but no, same sound different peeps. Thank goodness for SoundHound on iPhone. That’s how I know all these things!
DMB-Mercy: He’s almost too mainstream for this radio station but thankfully they still play him now and again. Love this new one on a rainy day, outside or just in your soul.
Johnny Marr and Healers-Another Day: This song makes me wish it was The Smiths and I was fifteen and my biggest problem was finding time to kiss my boyfriend.
The Pretenders-Another Night in My Veins: I love this station because they remind me that I LOVE certain songs. This particular video is hilarious because it’s a bootlegged morning news show (kinda sad) where Chrissie Hynde sounds awesome and reminds me of another thing-modern day singers have a lot to learn from artist with non-mechanically enhanced voices.
Rodriguez-Sugar Man: Ray LaMontagne makes me want red wine in a smoky club, every single time. This song, cigarettes and a cold beer in a dark club-that’s what this song makes me want.
