Smack in the middle of moving week I took two mornings out for events in NYC. The first was a Save the Children event with members of the UN.I’ll get to that later this week as it requires a little more mental clarity to write about than I possess right now.
The second event was a Fashion Week event hosted by Dawn and Elizabeth of Party BluPrints and sponsored by ULTA. Now, you know I can’t pass up an event involving fashion week and makeup anyway, but when I saw the venue was Caravan, a chic stylists’s studio, I really couldn’t say no.
The atmosphere was fantastic. Caravan is smack in the middle of the fashion district and it’s not only super-glam enough to make you feel like Rachel Zoe could walk in at any minute (“I die.”) but it also has a great story. Here’s what the website says about Caravan’s mission:
“The goal of the studio is to build more awareness about the offerings of The Fashion District while introducing creative people to one another. Caravan Stylist Studio will introduce actors, musicians, bloggers, editors and influencers to an array of different brands. This gives talented individuals the ability to support other talent. There is no cost to the fashion designers or the invited guests, the studio is supported by the coolest brand partners that see this as an opportunity to tell their story in an unique way. The studio during the day is ready for a series of private wardrobe and beauty appointments while at night the loft transforms easily into an event space complete with bar, dj booth and even a small band performance area.”
I’m kind of dying to host a party there someday but I digress.
ULTA was on hand to doll us all up as we mingled with other social media savvy moms in between shows. I was desperately in need of new lip products so I had a lip-makeover and watched others get their eyes done. We also has the added bonus of quick hair care so I left with some bouncy curls to bring a little glamour to my packing.
It was a great, fun day full of beautiful clothes and terrific company which just made the drudgery of packing and moving that much more bearable.
Totally worth the train ride!
