Today I’m thankful for people like Heather Spohr. She is a blogger who tragically lost her baby daughter Madeline over a year ago and writes beautifully about it on her blog, The Spohrs are Multiplying.
The reason I’m thankful for her is that not only is she is brave enough to share the raw and palpable agony that comes from living after a child dies, but (and this is where the real love is) she is also brave enough to live, I mean really live, after losing her daughter. Through her writing, I can see she is hilarious and smart and quite talented with photography and braids. She shares pictures of her newest love-baby Annie that could make you hurt with cuteness. She shares funny stories about her everyday life. She shares the joy she finds in small things right along side sharing how her heart will always be missing a piece reserved for Maddie.
Heather Spohr has absolutely no idea I exist but her presence in my life has become irreplaceable. I don’t have time to read as many blogs as I wish anymore, but I always check in with Heather because she either reminds me to be grateful, causes me to think or just makes me laugh out loud. I am thankful for her and all the other brave and amazing moms I have met through this wild world of blogging.
