Sorry. Can’t write much, ‘cuz I’m AT THE BEACH!!! So I’ve enlisted my Facebook friends for this one. The only rule: No repeats of what I’ve done. So that means so Will Smith, Buffet, Marley or Kenny Chesney. I wanted some less obvious stuff. Enjoy their favorite summer tunes. I know I am. Cheers!
Zac Brown- Where the Boat Leaves From: Zac Brown is this generations Buffet. Since I was never big on Buffet (Don’t tell The Husband. Ha may divorce me.) I’ll take Zac.
Weezer-Island in the Sun: from Amy at Using Our Words. Such a great suggestion. Makes me think of poop parties when we crashed after hours.
Don Henley-Boys of Summer: From Melissa at Married My SugarDaddy and Love Project Marriage. I never would have come up with this but man what a good one! It’s a total windows down, radio up song.
Heather (of our beloved pre-school’s “Miss Heather” fame) suggested Toots and The Maytails. I’ll admit-I was clueless. Damn, I’m never stumped Heather! Imagine my joy when they were not only reggae, but THIS SONG appeared on You Tube. Amazing. The only re-make I endorse as I have equal love for both places.
Steve Miller Band-Take the Money and Run: From Jessica at A Parent in Silver Spring and A Parent in America. I think of drunken lovely college parties but apparently on the West Coast they Steve Miller Lited it up in the summertime. (Get it? Miller Lite? I’m super-funny in the summer.) Since I know this California girl does so right by my east coast, I had to honor her version of Steve. Aaaaoooha Jess!
And last but not least…my favorite (seconded by Dave, my musical guru so I’m feeling pretty good about myself right now.)
Sinatra-Summer Wind: Rob R. wherever you are, I can hear you singing it in the streets of Morgantown.
