The Husband and I went on a proper date last night. We had dinner out and then saw a concert. The concert was Phil Vassar who I maintain has written the soundtrack of my life with songs like this and this and really, this. It was lovely. I have a million things to say about it including how inept the two of us are at taking phone pictures of ourselves and how I wish every concert had “Row T Guy” who danced his little butt off much like Elaine from Seinfeld. He really enhanced the show and I am totally serious about that. The man was into it and I loved him for it. Yes, I have so much to say.
But right now, all I can concentrate on are two boys upstairs who have been awake since the crack of dawn and are so loud I am pretty sure they have woken the entire block. Nothing like motherhood to bring reality crashing back as soon as the sun comes up.
I’ll give you a concert recap after I spend the weekend away from the boys. The Girl and I are off to NYC with two college girlfriends and their daughters. The boy-free timing couldn’t be better.
I will leave you with this: the concert last night was part of the tour called…you guessed it: Traveling Circus.
Life is funny.
