We joined a food co-op which means we pay $49 every two weeks for a GIANT box of fruits and vegetables from organic or eco farms around the world to be delivered (almost) to our door. I actually pick up the box from a woman who lives nearby and does all the work of sorting our bounty.
Our first pick up was this week. I was sick as a dog but the beautiful colors, smells and textures of all that box yielded did plenty to raise my spirits. The Girl and I went to pick up our riches and we were thrilled with everything we saw. These pictures are just some of what we got. There were also onions, and green peppers, big fresh bulbs of garlic and nectarines and bananas that The Husband says taste like “the fruit I ate when I was a kid”. Needless to say, we’re all thrilled with our decision, even if it means I have to learn to cook collard greens!

Yes. I accept your invitation to dinner. I just grilled eggplant with a little olive oil and salt tonight! Highly recommend it!

LOVE CSA’s! We do one for the summer with a farm here in VA. But this one sounds really interesting…do you know if they have deliveries in VA???
