Our two older kids have such distinct personalities, The Husband and I haven’t really tried to mold them in any such way. The third though, while totally unique in his own right, seems more interested in doing what dad and mom might do. I haven’t really noticed any conscious effort to turn him to one side or the other. Then this happened last night:
See what’s happening here? We’re apparently locked in a battle over who gets the kid-sports or music. The Husband is away on business and was thinking, from halfway across the country, about whether his boy was tuned into the home-team hockey game. I’m not sure it’s a sports fixation or an attempt to keep some DC alive in our offspring. Clearly, I didn’t even know I was in the fight as I really did ask him if he wanted to watch the Caps game. He was too interested in his music show to change. Apparently the battle is on for our third boy’s affections. I think no matter how the tide rolls, he is the only winner here.
