In today’s Talky Talk Tuesday I admit my ugly fitness secret. Take a look and share your two cents in the comments below. Oh, and it’s Ripped in 30, not Jacked in 30. But that’s a pretty good name too, dontcha think? You’ll understand when you watch.

For me, running does the trick. And if it’s too cold outside, get yourself a treadmill, it’s so worth the money!
Cristie says
I have hemmed and hawed over a treadmill for years! I haven’t bitten the bullet because I’ve managed to drag my butt outside even in winter…until now. This Mid-Western cold we’re experiencing here in the NE is too much for me, or my lungs to bear. I just may have to begin the treadmill search all over again.

I have to admit, I live in SC and its a different climate down here. I can still run in the cold. (That’s 45-60 for us.) Then I finish with some light weight arm work and abs with the ball.
On a yucky rainy day, I have done the stairs instead of the running. (Our house is 3 floors- up to the top and down for 15-20 sets is a workout.) I finished with the weights/arms and abs/ball. I also have some of those videos or wii games. The biggest thing for me is to keep moving and try to do something at least every other day. If I skip for 2 days, I am more likely to fall off the wagon.
I coached Girls on the Run at my daughter’s school this fall. Its a great program (both character lessons and running lessons each week.) Coaching helped me to be a better runner. It also helped me to find inside exercise as we practiced inside once the weather got (southern) cold. Good luck.

See? This is how I was-doing something every day even if it was just Wii. But then we got all crazy over the weeks of no power and I got lazy, or scattered, or whatever, again and I just need a kick in the pants. Also, the ball? I have them but the videos are so dull that I can never do a whole thing and I feel like I don’t know enough off the top of my head to just do some quick exercises with them. I know they’re so good though so I better learn!

Jacked in 30 – that is the best line ever!
Cristie says
Right? I almost think it’s a better title. Maybe she should make her next one that way!

You know me…a big Zumba fan. I know they have it for the WII, but I have not tried it myself. It’s the only type of exercise I enjoy. I like to walk, but I only ever walk if it’s perfect walking conditions…which means I hardly ever do. Haha. I am the worst at exercising! Good luck!
Cristie says
Cathy-I lOVED your zumba class but I haven’t found one since that I like and I know myself-I’m never traveling for exercise.;) I’ll have to try the Wii one. I’ve been intrigued but haven’t bought it yet. I’ll let you know.

I have been running everyday but was struggling to find something to do at home. So Saturday I bought the nike kinect fitness!. I did the “evaluation test” and was sore for 3 days, then it was nice out soI skipped. Im glad you are talking about this today because now Im going to try it again. I will let you know. I hear the xbox kinect Zumba is fun, but haven’t tried it. Good luck I hate working out inside.
Cristie says
Ah! I’m dying for an Xbox with kinect. We have the Wii and I just can’t get into any of the exercises where I have to hold the remote. I will say though, that Just Dance is hilarious and fun and I’m always sweating and panting when it’s over so I guess that’s exercise. I’ll have to ask Santa for the Xbox next year. I want it more than the kids!
Mary says
Santa this year and the kinect used from Game Stop. By the way I didnt do it again yesterday!!!! to much effort to move the crap way. TODAY. I will let you know. If i can lift my arms to type….
