I have been very clear on this here bloggity blog about my passion for the family dance party. We utilize it as stress reliever, family bonding and just all around good time. We will pretty much dance to anything, but there are a few family favorites. So, today I present one of the King Family Dance Party Playlists. This particular one is a great mix of kid and adult-yet-kid-friendly music. It is heavy on club beats, so just be sure to download the “radio” mix on your iPod or you could find yourself interrupting dance time to explain what a B**** is. (oops)
All Over Now: Eric Hutchinson (We like to start off a little slow and folksy for a warm up.)
Labels or Love: Fergie from the Sex In the City soundtrack (Just a little S.I.T.C for mama.)
Leave it all to Me: Miranda Cosgrove (That iCarly sure knows a lot about life.)
Party in the U.S.A: Miley Cyrus (C’mon-you know you like it.)
Single Ladies: Beyonce (What’s a dance mix without a little B?)
Boom Boom Pow followed closely with I Got A Feeling: Black Eyed Peas (The Baby calls these-“his” songs.)
Free to Be You and Me: Marlo Thomas and friend from THE soundtrack (yes, THE.)
My Life Would Suck Without You: Kelly Clarkson (A Crowd Pleaser with its slow lead up to all out head-banging.)
Just Fine: Mary J Blige (Usually we’ve lost the boys at this point as the last song now has them running in circles around the house. So The Girl and I just strut our stuff. Such a great Girl anthem!)
Say Hey (I Love You) Michael Franti (This is the newest edition and might be the best song ever. It’s the perfect, cool down and get back to the dishes song. I’ll admit-sometimes it’s just me swinging my hips to this one and pretending the view from the window over the kitchen sink is not the neighbor’s garbage cans, but rather a sunny Caribbean sea.)
Now, I dare you put at least a couple of these on with your kids (or in the kitchen by yourself) and just TRY not to smile and forget the troubles of your day.

Love the King family dance party tradition! Here a few songs that really get me going:
This One's For The Girls – Martina McBride (perfect for you and the girl once the boys are tired of the dance party although Just Fine is a great song too.)
Miracles Happen – Hilary Duff (not entirely sure) upbeat positive message – love this song and I think it's from like Disney's Ice Princess or something like that
Always love a good dance party and I don't know a lot of the songs on your list so I'm going to have to check them out!!
XOXO
