I am a bride’s maid. I haven’t been a bride’s maid since before my children were born and I was thin and had lots of disposable income (or at least I acted that way).
Not only am I a BM (keep it clean people) but I am the mother of one flower girl and two ring bearers. The boys are no big deal-tuxes all around. The flower girl is quite a different story.
She and I have been out dress shopping a few times and apparently I have passed on the same picky clothing issues because we have yet to find anything we like. Me-nothing makes me look like a much thinner, younger girl. Her-too poofy or not poofy enough. In her words, “classy with a bit of sassy” is the perfect dress.
I got an email link from The Bride the other day that was for Target. Yes, Target. (Isn’t she an awesome Bride???) My first reaction was, I will not buy these dresses from Target, you are more important to me than that. But then I figured- she sent the link so I owed her a look.
Wouldn’t you know I found not only a flower girl dress, but one for me as well. I was skeptical when I ordered online. Both dresses looked cute but c’mon it’s Target, was I really going to get not one, but two satin formal gowns from the same store that sells cat litter? I was expecting them to show up with shoddy stitching, be paper thin and SHINY. You know, way more sass than class.
I am sure you can guess I wouldn’t be posting about this unless there were a happy ending. Both dresses have arrived and they are beyond my wildest expectations. The flower girl dress is exquisite. It looks like the finest material and it put together well. Faith agrees it is the perfect mix of sass and class. My dress is well made and fits like a dress bought from a much higher end store. I still don’t look 25 and skinny, but my daughter thought it was her size on the hanger so that’s something!
The best part-I got BOTH dresses for under $100.
So now I have a huge budget for fabulous shoes-two pair of course. I passed that trait on to the flower girl too.

The boys and I would like our tuxes to be “class with a bit of bad-ass!” Think you can help with that?

How does a six year old know “classy with a bit of sassy”? She is 6 going on 30 and her mothers child…:) I can’t wait to see pictures of her in the dress and the boys in tuxes.
