I’m sure I could come up with a better mix of green tunes, but I’m too busy looking for a sitter so I can drink beer at the Irish Pub in town tomorrow. I heard both of these songs on the radio this week and I had to share. The first one is specifically for my sister who loved this cheesy song when I was little. As soon as I heard this yesterday all I could think was, it’s cool now, Suz!
Like your beloved Vera Bradley bags, it only took twenty years, but you’re finally trendy.
The second one? It’s just fun. It’s old (like 1800’s old, not older sister old) and created by a guy with an Irish name but who knows if it’s Irish. This version is sung by a guy from Tampa florida about NYC. The line about “Casey’s or Mamie O’Rourke” might be the most Irish thing about it. But it sounded like something you’d hear in a pub over a pint and I love the added verse about the WTC buildings so I’m including it anyway. Hey, I don’t even have a touch of Irish in me so I can write whatever I want on St. Patrick’s Day right?
