When it gets cold and dark, I just want light and happy. These are some of the tunes that make it so this week.
Mat Kearney: Hey Mama-This is just one pick. You could literally choose anything buy this guy and just try not to smile.
Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes-Home: This song is “from something” but neither The Husband or I can remember what. I found it stumbling around iTunes and recognized that I loved it from whatever that something was. Then when my Writing Super Star Nephew, on whom I rely for some of my new music intel, was here we discovered we both had this song on our iPods. That means I knew about this before he told me about it, which is pretty awesome for me and for him might mean he needs to spend less time on his studies and more time on iTunes because I’m gaining on him. ***
Xenia-(Vienna) Summer Dress: Alright so the song I’m actually listening to is Summer Dress, but that is so knew and she is so unheard of that there is no You Tube video for that song so I’m sharing this Billy Joel cover just so you can hear her amazing Voice. Yes, with a capital V because she is the winner of last season’s The Voice which is one reality show I’m a huge fan of because it’s actually still about talent and not who makes the best t.v. I’m sure that’s coming soon enough but for now the show is as pure as this girl’s voice. Go find Summer Dress. You’ll be happy you did.
Zach Brown-Jolene: Not springy and happy, but man is it fun to sing along to. They just never get old.
***Editor’s Note: I JUST figured out that the Edward Sharpe song is that adorable freakin’ video of the little girl and the dad singing. Swoon. The reason there is no video here is because I couldn’t embed a single one. Guess that cute little girl has a vice grip on You Tube. Hmmm…
