Life in Lee

I was asked a few weeks ago to participate in a photo contest for Lee Jeans. The email I got from the PR person contained the phrases, “we love the pictures on your blog and think you’d be a good addition…” AND “Fashion Week NYC”.

I responded first to ask if they meant the general photography or the Header Photos because, they Header Photos are all the magic of Sue Barr so they should contact her. They said no, they meant the pictures contained in my posts which are all mine. So the second thing I did was a little happy dance because taking pictures is probably the thing I love the most in the world. I’d do it whether anyone ever saw them or not, so to have someone compliment them sent me over the moon.

After I finished my little dance I stammered out this in an email (as much as one can stammer in email), “uh, did you say Fashion Week”? See, THAT might be my biggest dream, to attend NYFW. I even just gave it that little acronym because we’re so tight-Fashion Week and Me.

Anyway, they sent me some Lee jeans for myself (which are awesome-more on that later) and my boys (no little girl jeans made yet) and I had all sorts of grand plans for pictures frolicking in the surf or climbing the life guard stand or making sand castles all in their  rolled up Lees. The Husband had a great idea to just lay the ocean-drenched Lees over our beach locker doors. What a great picture that would be. Then I went to California.Then I was afraid to take my camera on a beach day so I decided to take them one evening. Then I got sick.

With the deadline looming, we ended up in my backyard, with the only cooperative boy. To be honest, I still love them so I’m proud to share them with you. You could see more on the Lee Facebook page but they’re off now and deciding who won. I’m going to be honest, I dropped the ball on the voting process because the dates changed and I couldn’t for the life of me keep up with it all. So, here they are-for your viewing pleasure!
