The weather of late has thrown such a wrench in my spring it’s crazy. I’m not complaining. I mean, who doesn’t want to go the beach in April? I do have to acknowledge though that I haven’t even looked at my calendar in two weeks and that behavior has to stop. We had back to back spring breaks here and I have completely acted like I’m the one on vacation.
Today, back to reality. There is a bulging to-do folder on my desk. I have a meeting tomorrow night I have to get coverage for. The next three solid weekends are full of traveling salesman work and now comes school crunch time for kids. I would say it is time to get my ducks in a row.
It was blissful for two weeks, just getting to be the babysitter. Oh sure, I cooked and cleaned (probably more than usual) but mostly we played. There was basketball to watch and play. We entertained guests. We rode bikes. We had Playdoh marathons. We watched movies and popped popcorn and generally just hung out. We had nowhere to go and nothing to do but enjoy each other. It was fantastic.
I’ll use those memories to get me through the monotony of the mommy routine that starts in T-25 minutes.
Happy Monday.
