My twin nephews are 21 today. I was young when they were born (dammit).
I am not their mom, but I can not even imagine what she is feeling today. I do know, that as only an aunt I am both thrilled and bereft.
I am thrilled because they have turned into outstanding young men-the kind you want your sons to be. They are hysterically funny, warm hearted and wildly talented in many areas. Also, they’re pretty cute which I am sure serves them well-although I have no desire to know the details of that.

I am bereft because I have very vivid memories of riding bikes, shooting baskets and wiping up their spilled drinks when they were my summer-babysitting charges at age 6. I am not sure where those years went and some days I wish I could have them back-for their life and for mine.
I hope their mom and dad are celebrating a job well done today. Because for 21 exhausting years, they have poured into their kids exactly what was needed to make them great men.
Happy Birthday J &K. Well done M&M-thank you for sharing your babies with us.
